The Reveal Quest by JordanHWrites. Last updated 17 October 2026.

What we collect

• Your order form: names, the secret word, reveal lines, the date, hiding spots, inside jokes, door messages, checklist items, notes, your shop order number and, on the Keepsake version, up to two photos (one of you, and an optional photo used as a zoom clue).
• Your voice message, Keepsake only and only if you record one: one recording in your own words, plus a record of the boxes you ticked, the time and your browser type. It is played at the reveal exactly as recorded. It is never sent to an AI service.
• Technical: to stop abuse we count requests per connection. We store a scrambled form of your IP address for up to one hour, then it is gone.

Who helps us

• PostHog (EU servers) counts a few anonymous page events, such as a quest step opened, a reveal completed, the countdown opened and the order form started or sent, plus which version was picked. It never receives names, messages, photos or recordings. It uses no cookies: a random number kept only until you close the tab. If your browser sends Do Not Track, nothing is counted.
• Cloudflare hosts these pages and runs the code that receives your form and recording. Like any web host it sees your IP address when you visit.
• Upstash stores your order details, photo and recording in a private database in Ireland (EU).
• Runway turns your clue text into the narrator audio that every quest uses. Runway's terms say it may use text and audio sent to it to improve its AI models. We send only the clue and reveal lines, never your photo or recording.
• Open Meteo, only on trip countdowns, is asked for the weather at the destination. It receives the place, not your name.

How long we keep it

• Order details, photos and your voice message are deleted from our database automatically 30 days after the date of your big day (and never sooner than 60 days after you order, so the gift keeps working). If you give no date, they are deleted 60 days after you order.
• Your finished quest page (narrator audio and photo) stays online until 30 days after the big day so the gift keeps working, then it shows a short ended message. Anyone with the link or the printed QR codes can open it. It is not listed or shown in search engines. Message us through the shop where you ordered and we take it down.
• The countdown saves your ticks and opened doors on your own phone only.

Your delete link

After you send a recording you get a private link. Using it deletes your voice message from our database straight away and it stops playing in the quest at once. The written message stays.

What we never do

We do not sell your data, show ads, or use tracking cookies. We only use your voice message for the one gift you ordered, and we never make an AI copy of it.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data at any time by messaging us through the shop where you ordered. If you are unhappy with how we handle it you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
